These thoughts are all based on Biblical Text - and whatever religion you follow your religious actions should be based on its teachings and scripture. All Quotes from the American Standard Version of the Bible - should you be able to disprove any of the below to my satisfaction I will be happy to change it! My stance is simple. A religion should attempt to follow its handed-down teachings. Jehovah Witnesses have set out to attack the beliefs of others and it is only in more recent years that they have adorned themselves in sheep's clothing. They see themselves as teachers of true Christianity which they certainly are not! Their doctrines are clearly at odds with the Bible which they either ignore or falsify. One of Satan's titles is 'The Great Deceiver'. and anyone who deliberately sets out to deceive others is surely working for him. U U U You will note that I make no argument against the Mormons whom I admire even though they too have three Gods! They attack no-one and practice their religion in peace with others. U U U Twisted words from The New World Translation If only one verse of the Jehovah Witness bible could be proven false then their whole translation should be viewed with suspicion! Now look at the first chapter of St. John's gospel or good news. Their interpretation states in John 1 v1 that "the Word was a god!" Every other translation states that the "Word was God." written like this, "IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John1v1. A few verses on St John tells us, " And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us," John1v14 - This is clearly a reference to Jesus. Jehovah Witnesses have added the letter "a" and entered god with a small "g!" They entered the "a" themselves implying that Jesus was one of many gods but no other translation on earth implies that. Also, they use the modern english means of using a small g for God implying no God at all! for example - like a popstar worshipped like a god - but not a real god. The problem is that the writers of the New Testament would have had no conception of a non God or any God other than the real thing. So the 'New World Translation' has taken the writers words and turned them into a concept he could not have understood. In other words they have changed the meaning of John chapter 1 v 1 to suit their own version of the truth. |
The name Jehovah
So man named God! Even God who never revealed His name in the Bible!
When Moses, before going to Pharoah to demand the release of the Israelite slaves, asks God, "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say to me, "What is His name?' What shall I say to them?" God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, "I AM has sent me to you." Exodus 3:13-14
Since when did "I am" become "Jehovah?"
The answer never because the Masoretes, Jewish biblical scholars of the Middle Ages, replaced the vowel signs that had appeared above or beneath the consonants of YHWH with the vowel signs of Adonai or of Elohim. Thus the artificial name Jehovah (YeHoWaH)came into being. Although Christian scholars after the Renaissance and Reformation periods used the term Jehovah for YHWH, in the 19th and 20th centuries biblical scholars again began to use the form Yahweh, thus this pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton was never really lost. Greek transcriptions also indicate that YHWH should be pronounced Yahweh."
Lets face it GOD never revealed His name to anybody but some just cannot be satisfied with that.
Jehovah's Witness - What does this imply?
To suggest that God needs anything lessons His power as God! Had the Jehovah's Witnesses called themselves "Jesus Witnesses" then that would have made sense - EXCEPT THAT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE JESUS WITNESSES ANYWAY! without having to make a point of it!
Jesus Himself said :- "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28v19-20
Jesus asked His followers to WITNESS to all the things He had done BUT have not christians been doing this since the beginning!
Charles Taze Russell, the creator of the Jehovah's Witnesses based the name Jehovah Witness on Isaiah 43v10 "You are My witnesses," declares the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And ther will be none after Me" Isaiah 43v10
NOTE: This is not a request from God for men to witness to God's existence BUT to witness as followers to the fact that He alone is God! To witness what He is and what He does . . . God is stating a fact that His followers are His witnesses - NOT THAT HE NEEDS THEM AS WITNESSES!
Don't you think that it is rather presumptuous of the Russell's followers to call themselves Jehovah Witnesses which suggests by it's very name that God needs witnesses! DID God provide a seat at the beginning of time for mankind to witness His creation of the UNIVERSE. No! It is not that God needs us BUT that WE NEED GOD!
Christians do not need to bear a name that suggests they are God's witnesses when they are already doing what JESUS has already required of them. That is to witness to His deeds on earth, His coming, His miracles and His love of all mankind without reserve AND to this end God brought Jesus into the World :- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3v16
AS HIS FOLLOWERS WE DO NOT CALL OURSELVES "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES" we call ourselves C H R I S T I A N S - of Christ
I am not a Baptist, a Methodist a Roman Catholic or Anglican - I am a christian who has witnessed Jesus great love of mankind.
Jehovah's Witnesses and The Trinity
Let's get one thing straight right at the start -
THERE ISN'T A CHRISTIAN ON EARTH THAT BELIEVES THERE IS MORE THAN ONE GOD!
Sorry about the caps but that needed shouting out!
It is not that Christians have three Gods but rather that Jehovah Witnesses do!
When Charles Russell chose his name for his cult from Isaiah 43v10 he should have paid a lot more attention to the next verse! "I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior besides Me." Isaiah 43v11
Now compare this verse with Matthew 1v21 :- "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1v21
So the Jehovah Witnesses have two Saviours ? ? ?
This is because Jehovah Witnesses separate Jesus from God when they were always ONE! "I and the Father are one." John 10:30
The Jews listening to Jesus knew exactly what He meant! "The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him." John 30:31
Towards the end of His ministry when Jesus is with His desciples, one of them, Philip, asks Jesus :- "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, "Show us the Father'? John 14:8,9
The fact is that Jesus and God are and always were inseparable and at the end of time so shall all they that God calls His sons and daughters!
Think of Jesus like this :- You stand on the edge of the pacific ocean and you scoop up a glassful of it's water. in that water you can see what all the water in the pacific ocean is composed of and is. Jesus and God are like that.
That is why Jesus came to earth - to reveal the nature of God in His own character - and God is love, "for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
So the Jehovah Witnesses have two Fathers ? ? ?
Jesus told us that unless He left us The Spirit could not come! "Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you. John 16:7 For the Spirit is both God and Jesus in one. The Power and The Love combined.
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1Corinthians 13v13
